While we all enjoy a few spins on the roulette wheel, there’s no denying that when you’re playing online, the action can feel a bit synthetic. Thankfully, however, Playtech have produced a 3D version of the game that’s a far closer approximation of playing at a bricks and mortar casino. Featuring the same rules, betting options and game mechanics as conventional wheel, 3D Roulette simply adds an extra graphical flourish to the company’s already winning roulette formula to ensure players get a more comprehensive gaming experience from their time at the virtual tables.
The aim of 3D Roulette is exactly the same as in any other form of the game, with players simply wagering on where on the wheel they think a roulette ball will stop. Like European roulette, the game features a single zero and the numbers 1-36 in alternating red or black. Players can choose to bet on the colour, number or section of the wheel that the ball will land on each spin, with the odds displayed by hovering the mouse over each option revealing how much they stand to win.
Playing 3D Roulette is simply a case of selecting a chip value from £0.01-£25.00 from the right hand side of the screen and placing one or more chips on the outcome that you wish to bet on. Different outcomes have different maximum bet limits, but generally you can add more chips by clicking the section you want to bet on or take them back by clicking while holding shift. A clear button lets you remove any bets currently placed on the table, while the repeat button lets you place the same bet as your previous spin without having to add the chips individually.
Roulette is essentially a game of pure chance, so the skill element lies not so much in the bets you make, but in the way that you manage your bankroll. There’s no point wagering a large proportion of the funds you have available on a single number if failing to hit it will take you out of the game, so try to be smart and spread your risk as much as possible. Obviously your bankroll will go nowhere fast if you only bet on red or black, but try and find an option that provides a risk/reward balance that suits your budget and playing style such as betting on any five of the 6-line bets.
Featuring the same fun, fast-paced and mechanically-sound action as a conventional roulette game, 3D Roulette succeeds in pushing the envelope in terms of what it’s possible to do with casino graphics. The game looks far more authentic than the regular 2D tables and this will provide players with a more immersive gaming experience as they spin their way to riches.
