Double Attack Blackjack
Double Attack Blackjack
If you’re finding conventional blackjack titles a little repetitive and fancy playing something with a bit more scope for betting, why not give Playtech’s Double Attack Blackjack a shot? Unlike classic versions of the game, Double Attack Blackjack allows you to double your wager after seeing the dealer’s first card, creating numerous situations where the player can really go for broke and capitalise on any signs of weakness. To add insult to injury, players can also bet on how the dealer will bust, meaning it’s possible to win multiple stakes on each and every deal.
Although the basic rules of Double Attack Blackjack are exactly the same as in conventional versions of the game, players will be given the opportunity to double their bet after the dealer’s upcard has been dealt. Remember, however, that this is an optional bet and if the dealer is displaying a strong first card, it may be wiser to refrain from doubling your stake and pick a better spot. Players can also place a separate side bet on the “Bust It” section of the board, which awards prizes based on the paytable to the left of the screen whenever the dealer busts. Players should note that when wagering on this field, all hands will be played to a conclusion, meaning that even when they bust themselves, the dealer must play out the hand as normal so that any winning bets can be paid.
At the bottom of the screen, players will see a row of chips ranging from £0.01 to £100.00 in value. In order to play a hand, players must simply click a chip and place it on the “place your bet” space, while adding another chip to the “Bust It” section of the board if they wish to wager on this as well. Pressing “deal” will now start the hand, with players being given the option to double attack or skip double attack at their discretion. From here on in, the game plays out as normal with hit, stand, double, split and surrender options all available depending on your two cards. As ever, the aim is to beat the dealer’s total, with the dealer always hitting on 16 or under and standing on 17 or over.
The main strategic aspect of Double Attack Blackjack is knowing when to increase your wager based on the dealer’s upcard and when to decline the offer and play as normal. Try and think about the upcards you’d like to see appear in a conventional game of blackjack and the ones that force you to play more aggressively. If it is likely that the dealer will have to hit at least twice, you may well want to increase the amount you can win with a bet, while if they are showing an eight, nine or face card, you may be better of skipping this option and waiting for another deal.
If you’re a blackjack enthusiast, you’ll love Double Attack Blackjack. The game gives you more options to bet on and there’s also greater room for good players to capitalise by increasing their stakes as a hand progresses. The “Beat It” betting system, meanwhile, is a fun way of ensuring that even when you’re unlucky enough to bust, you still have something riding on every hand.
