The Invisible Man
The Invisible Man
Based on the 1933 film adaptation of H.G. Wells’ iconic short story, The Invisible Man is another high quality slot from NetEnt and Universal Studios that boasts state-of-the-art graphics and audio taken straight from its original source material. A five-reel, 20-payline title that pays from both left-to-right and right-to-left, The Invisible Man also includes a great re-spin feature that is triggered whenever a police or Griffin wild symbol appears on the reels, with this special icon moving one place to the left or right after each spin and re-spins being awarded until it drops off the board entirely. With a free spins feature also being triggered if any police and Griffin symbol meet on the reels during these re-spins and two further bonus rounds to be had, there’s certainly more to the slot than meets the eye.
Although originally inspired by H.G. Wells’ science fiction novella, The Invisible Man slot takes its audio and visual cues from the 1933 film adaption starring Claude Rains. Unique icons to feature in the game are all based on characters from both the book and the film, with Rains’ Griffin (a.k.a. The Invisible Man), being joined by constable J.A. Jaffers, Dr Cranley, Flora Cranley, Arthur Kemp and Mr and Mrs Hall on the reels. The sound effects used in the game, meanwhile, are all taken from the film itself, with a number of memorably sinister quotes from Griffin punctuating big wins and re-spins and a mysterious piece of background music really enhancing the overall ambience.
As mentioned above, the base game in The Invisible Man features both walking wilds that move from left-to-right or right-to-left and free re-spins, with these in turn triggering a further bonus whenever police and Griffin symbols meet anywhere on the reels. When this happens, players will receive 10 free spins with both a police and a Griffin metre now appearing alongside the reels. With re-spins occurring during the feature in the same way, every time a police of Griffin symbol drops off the reels, a section of their respective metre will be filled, with a full eight sections triggering one of two further features. Police Spins mode simply adds a further three spins at the end of the feature, with these games benefitting from five random wilds, while the Griffin’s Rage bonus sees players wreck havoc as the Invisible Man in a pick game during which they can win prizes and multipliers.
In spite of its innovative design and features, The Invisible Man plays in largely the same way as most other NetEnt slots, with adjustable arrow buttons being used to control players’ bet level from 1-10 and their coin value from £0.01-£0.50. When combined, these two elements make the slot playable from anywhere between £0.20 and £100.00 per spin, with players also able to queue up 100 spins at their desired bet level by using the autoplay button.
An incredibly striking video slot from NetEnt and Universal Studios, The Invisible Man follows in the footsteps of Creature From The Black Lagoon in terms of its immersive sound and visuals. The game is again brimming with bonus features, with re-spins, free spins and two bonus rounds all helping players boost their base game winnings as they watch H.G. Wells’ classic short story unfold.
